Non - English speaking or not isn't it the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle to drive following the rules of the Road. Why make a U-turn where it is not allowed. Why turn when it is written NO turn on Red. Is it the fault of the sign that you cannot read English.
US is an English speaking nation although people from all parts of the word live here. We have to abide by the common language which is English and not Spanish. The DMV cannot post sign in hundreds of languages that different people speak.
If the driver violated the law he must be given a ticket unless it is his first offence when a warning would be sufficient. Rules are meant to be followed.

Hi all,
This year I got my H1B approved with start date Oct 1st 2007 through a consultancy. I had also applied for GC in July (as derivative) and got my EAD October last week.
The consultancy hasn't placed me on project so far (it's been more than a month) , and I am concerned , if this period of "no pay" will affect my GC process in anyway.:(
The consultancy wants me to get an SSN now, because a couple of their clients want to know the SSN number before considering for projects.
Would getting an ssn number based on the H1B effect me in anyway later on.....in case it takes longer for the consultancy to assign me a project?:confused:
In the mean time I have been looking for jobs in my area , and if I find one before the consultancy assigns a project, I have decided to go ahead and use my EAD card.. and get SSN based on EAD.

Dear Friends,

Hey, What you really mean is that one or two LETTERS in your name do not match your name on the passport. An ALPHABET is made up of ALL the letters in a languge. The neglish ALPHABET is made up of LETTERS from A to Z.

As per my understanding, extension will be given if and only if :
Either Labor is pending for more than 365 days or Labor and I-140 is approved.
If Labor is pending for more than 365 days, one year extension is approved and if Labor and I-140 is approved, three year extension is approved.

I am on 7th year of my H1 and my I-140 is pending. Since my current H1 is about to expire, I need to file for my 8th year of H1 extension. I am trying to port from EB3-->EB2 but my company is reluctant to pay the attorney fees. I am willing to pay the attorney fees but the company insist they must pay the fee. I thought the company must pay only the filing fees?

You will have to file an amended petition to be in compliance.

Thanks NikNikon for the advice. I shoot everything from inside the arena so I can move between events to get the best position. Right know the strobes are out of my budget. Thanks MatsP also for your input. After your comments and talking with someone from Showcase here in Atlanta I feel much better :) about what I ended up with. This must be one of the toughest shooting environments you can come across. Do you think a bracket mounted flash would help any with the red eye? Also after 2200+ photos I am trying to learn to batch process pictures with photoshop. I am really please with how the unsharp mask helps the noise from the higher ISO. Any suggestions on batch processing tips to enhance sharpness, reduce noice and adjust levels & color are welcome. I have used photoshop for years in my printing trade but never learned it's full potential for use with photography. Also are any of you using Nikon's Picture Project? Particularly the D-lighting adjustment?

The link on USCIS page sends only the user id thru email. It does not send password.
Once you get your userid. Click on the forgot password link again and enter both your userid and email address, it will send you a link to reset your password.

My wife is doing her MBA in H4. My PD is July 2008. Being on H4, you can save a lot of money in fees. And also you never know, If at all the visa re-capture bill is passed, you might able to file I-485. So My advice is to continue on H4.

But I havent received any mail from CRIS and the USCIS website doesnt show the approval as well till now.
Has someone experienced like this before - lawyer getting it first and the uscis webisite took a long time to update if it did at all.
Any comments pls?

This is a tricky situation. I would suggest you consult your attorney.
Since one of your parent's is Indian citizen having a Birth place Nepal and Obtaining an Indian Passport is a valid situation. There are many people who are born outside India for various reasons. Their Indian citizen parent(s) can get Indian citizenship for them.
In my opinion, you should change the place of birth in your passport as Nepal (provided you have proof). This way, it not confuse USCIS. Remember no matter which Citizenship you have, your place of birth is what determines the Chargebility.
Once you are able to change the place of birth on your passport and show Birth Certificate from Nepal you are good to go!!

As per lawyer, there is a way of doing this using some 'temporary' # by payroll company.
In my wife's case, her company didn't attempt to approach payroll company. She was paid after she received the SSN.
Side question, very much related to OP's question.
How to run the payroll while you still waiting for SSN?
My wife's petition got approved today (H4-H1) and we are waiting for physical I-797 to get SSN request submitted. Meanwhile, is it possible to get her on payroll for next 10days so that we can have W-2 for 2010?
I'll discuss with the lawyer but just wanted to get any experiences on this situation. We are also waiting for ITIN so technically nothing can be done for tax withholding purposes.
I really don't understand then how COS applies immediately when we are supposed to get paid on H1B all time and at the same time we can't get paid without SSN. Something doesn't add up or am I'm missing anything?

AILA members have been receiving denials based on the USCIS's use of information found on Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia to which anyone in the world may contribute information. SCOPS advised that it has notified the service centers and there should not be additional RFEs or denials based upon Wikipedia.
