Earlier I said that I was working on one of the most exciting collaborations ever and now I'm really excited to finally debut it! We told a few select really close friends, but Brett and I have been pretty secret about it until we got it all ready to debut! Well, I'm sure most of you know about our "Married with scooters" post! Well Genuine Scooter co. saw it and loved it and thought Brett and I fit right in with their slogan, "Feel the love, it's genuine"! So now we're working with them - and it's so exciting especially because Brett and I love our scooters and I couldn't be happier to promote them! Especially for a business that truly cares about their customers, for a product that saves on fuel and helps the environment and like one of my readers said, "Makes any outfit look better!"



I got an email from the founder and president himself, Philip McCaleb, asking me to call him! So of course, I did, and we spent a good half hour just talking about how there are so many exciting things coming up for Genuine Scooter co. and he wanted Brett and I to be a part of it and how much he really loved my blog! I nearly died. I went home to Brett that night and had a "happy heart attack". We honestly danced around the apartment thinking that was just the coolest thing in the world. Ha ha! Philip said he is even going to come out to west Michigan sometime this summer so we can go for a scoot ride!



So of course, I went out and celebrated the occasion by picking up a bottle of nail polish to match Buddy. And picked out a million things I absolutely need to bling out my scooter (aka, a wicker basket so I can fill it up with pretty flowers or beach towels or whatever my little heart desires!) In case, you might ask.. my nail polish is Pea's and Q's by OPI!



So, I thought it would be fun for this sponsor spotlight to show off Buddy's outfit. So, we put him in my classic outfit spot location and Brett took some pictures! Brett was walking away when Buddy goes, "Hey.. don't forget details!" Buddy is sporting chrome features, a mint green coat.. and of course, Tieka. ;) I just picked up this bag from Urban last weekend. I was looking for a bag that mixed brown and black for forever and was so glad to find one on sale there! It's perfect for scooting! I usually have enough room in my trunk, but Brett and I had pizza leftovers in there. Hehe! Well have a great rest of your weekend. I have a crazy outfit shoot idea tomorrow that Brett is going to murdeerrr me for. At least it's secluded! ;)

Married... with scooters!

So, happy graduation to me.. and Brett! (ha!) We found out we couldn't have a puppy in our apartment, so I'm instead counting these as my graduation gift to myself. Plus, Brett gets one because it's more fun when we each have our own! We actually got them a few weeks ago, but I've been waiting for the perfect weekend to debut them. With our 86 degree day today, it was the perfect day to go scootering around our lovely beach town. This photo was so inspired by this one here!



They are both Genuine Scooter Buddy scooters! He opted for black and I went for the girly mint green color! They are so much fun. We had scooters a couple of years ago, but Brett got into an accident and I sold mine so we could get Brett's old car fixed, so we lost them, but now we have better ones (that we're being extra careful on, promise!) But some of my favorite memories of the first year of our marriage were spent on scooters, so I knew we had to have them again. They seriously make life so much more fun!



In summer, our town changes like you wouldn't believe. It doubles in population because we're such a touristy town! So in the summer, there is never parking - even the locals like us can't find parking anywhere - so these are going to be perfect for heading down to the beach and never searching for a spot! We took them down to the beach tonight, watched the sunset and rode them home... perfection!



Here's to a summer of scooter trips and adventures! I couldn't be more excited! We've had such a lovely weekend. Last night, Tall Ships (Brett's band) played in Traverse City and it was such a fun show with friends. Afterwards, we grabbed pizza in downtown Traverse - so good. I had a blast. Next weekend, Tall Ships is going on a mini-tour (Grand Rapids, Howell, Chicago!) so Kait and I are tagging along and I'm so excited. It's going to be a blast. I loveee our group of friends! I promise to blog all about it!

September Begins

September begins. I'm looking forward to it as well. I'm looking forward to time slowing down a bit as the weather cools. Fall classes began today. It's definitely not fall yet though. I'm sitting at Biggby right now. The air conditioning still isn't fixed from when I worked here. Barf.


My classes seem great so far. I had Introduction to Digital Media and Design Drawing 2. I was nail-biting nervous for drawing, but my professor seems amazing. I felt so great listening to him speak this afternoon. I still have two more classes to have the first day of, but I know this is going to be a great semester already.


I scootered this morning with Jen. I'm back at Kendall full-time for fall classes. I have a bunch of new amazing music thanks to my husband. I live in downtown Grand Rapids. I can walk to Rosa Parks Circle. Everything I loved about my life and lost for a year, I've gotten back. And I still have Beacon Recycling this time. I have everything I need.
