Lucky Magazine Feature

I was super excited to receive the opportunity to have a little feature in the September issue of Lucky Magazine! They contacted some of the Lucky Style Collective bloggers asking for ideas and I couldn't wait to contribute. They are doing a new spread every month called, On The Blogs, where they gather what's inspiring bloggers and share it with you guys in the magazine! I'm excited to see what they come up with every month. For mine, they asked us what we were loving for fall... and I'm a huge leather jacket girl in autumn, so I was excited to talk about one with a Francoise Hardy edge. I have been so excited to announce Megan Nielsen's SS2011 Sunburnt Country line! She asked me to be a part of it and I couldn't have been more thrilled. Featured In: Revue Magazine

I'm super excited to announce that I was featured in the January issue of Revue Magazine! There is a fashion revolution happening in Grand Rapids right now and I'm so happy to be a part of it and to support it. We have a whole bunch of events popping up around the city with Fashion's Night Out, Grand Rapids Fashion Weekend and so many more. I've been noticing a lot more comments from girls saying they are from the Grand Rapids area and it's wonderful. I'm hoping this spring I can arrange a blogger meet-up to coincide with a fashion show! If you live in the area, be sure to pick up a free copy of Revue Magazine! Or if you're not in the area, you can check out the magazine online! I loved the little blurb they wrote up on Selective Potential. Bloggers Unite for Pink Pony!

I'm so proud right now to be one of the one hundred bloggers in the Pink Pony campaign. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary of the Polo Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony fund which is a year round effort to promote awareness and to raise funds in the fight against cancer. The mission of Pink Pony is to address the needs of the medically under served by bringing quality cancer care, access to cancer care and early detection for those who need it most. Franklin Collection: Jess LC & Delightful Dozen!

Hello, my dear readers! You might be seeing an extra post squeezed in here and there. I have some major catching up to do! I hope you don't mind. I don't want to bombard you with Tiekaness. (See what I did there, Kendi?) Ahem, besides the point! Of course, if you're a long-time reader, you know that I'm in love with Jess and Jess LC and every single thing she produces. I modeled for her back in March - so I'm super excited to announce an amazing collaboration with the Delightful Dozen!



Say hello to the Franklin Collection! She had her readers vote on their favorite intention phrases, which she narrowed down to five to create into these gorgeous necklaces! She printed one side braille so that you could rub the intention and know what it meant, but it was your own secret. The actual written intention is on the other side. It's a constant reminder of something you want to achieve. I chose Be Present because I constantly used to live in the past and for a while I constantly lived in the future, but I need to remind myself to Be Present. Live now - don't take a single moment for granted! This is your life!



So I thought I'd give you a closer look at the outfit I chose to style up my Be Present necklace. Be sure to check out the lookbook on Jess LC's website! I wanted something simple to complement the necklace. I also could not smile this day! These were the first pictures Brett and I took after my wisdom teeth surgery and I talked so weird with this crazy "lishp" and Brett kept making me giggle and it hurt so bad! Haha! I'm glad I'm back up to regular posting. So much to do!

Modcloth Blogger of the Moment!

I'm so so excited to announce that I've been named one of Modcloth's Blogger of the Moments! I'm seriously so honored. And one of the best things about it is I have a dress named after me now! I never thought in a million years that would ever happen! Seriously. It's so amazing. I've been on a major high ever since I heard - so between graduating from college, winning studio excellence, being blogger of the moment and being featured on whowhatwear, I've been smiling from ear to ear with pride. If you would have told me a year ago that all of this would be happening, I would have squealed with laughter and told you that you were crazy. I'm so happy, I could burst.

If you've read my blog for long enough, you know how much I adore Modcloth. I did a really fun spring fever blogger challenge with them in April! The final post is up! And now I'm lucky enough to be named for this honor!



So this is the dress named after Selective Potential! It's a gorgeous antique tea stain color with black accents! The perfect fit for my style. I love the faux sweetheart neckline, the lace trim.. and one of my favorite features, the long exposed zipper in the back. So unexpected and so pretty. Be sure to check it out here! I couldn't be more excited. And Brett was grinning when I was wearing this too, so I think he's pretty excited as well! I couldn't love Modcloth's description more either. Next time I style this up, I'm going for their recommendation! The biker jacket with the lace up booties (so me!), put with a rosette ring that is artful enough for your graphics classes or a punk rock show. Ah, such a perfect description for my namesake dress!

I paired this dress very simply with my heels from Target I purchased last fall and a simple black blazer for when the wind picked up a bit. I was also waiting on styling this hair clip for the longest time - unsure of the perfect outfit to wear it with - and of course, the opportunity came along! It's my known saying that if you don't know how to style something - just wait it out - and the perfect chance will come along! These photos were taken at sunset on the boardwalk downtown. Right now is the perfect time to be living on Lake Michigan. Michigan summers are the best.

WhoWhatWear Style Stalker // May Feature!

I've been featured on WhoWhatWear's website in their Style Stalker article again! I couldn't be more excited! I actually knew about it last week (teehee), but it was still a great thing to see today because I wasn't sure when it was going up! I have their book on my bedside and constantly await my daily email for inspiration and to stay up on the trends! Definitely one of my favorite websites for help on style. Jess LC Jewelry Launch!

At the beginning of the month, I tweeted about a secret photo shoot in the windy city and now I am finally able to spill the beans - and I'm so excited! Jess from Jess LC Jewelry contacted me a while back about being a model for her first ever sterling cast pendant collection, named Division. I, of course, said absolutely! Brett and I made the hike out to Chicago for the best day ever. We stayed with Jess in her stunning apartment - and woke up to such an amazing day for both of us. Of course, Brett hit the record shops while I basked in the glory of fresh bagels, mimosas, photos, sunshine, the best cupcake in the world, adorable puppies, balloons and surrounded by the most amazing team ever. Could a girl ask for anything more?



We started our photoshoot at Jess's apartment and ventured around Lincoln Square to some of the most adorable places ever, including Molly's Cupcakes, Noble Tree Coffee and Pocket Puppies! If you live in Chicago and are able to visit Molly's Cupcakes - I'd so recommend the cookie monster cupcake. I died and went to heaven. Jess chose some gorgeous settings for the best day ever - perfect for her new collection. Not to mention, I loved her - she is so down to earth and insanely kind. Brett and I felt so at ease with her, staying at her place although we never met before! She was so wonderful to meet.



The division collection is gorgeous. Jess had such wonderful ideas - and used pattern, repetition and interiors for her inspiration. I'm in love with the Chevron pattern - so I was so excited to see her use that in her jewelry designs. They fit perfectly with every outfit and are so light and darling for spring/summer.



We had such a wonderful team - Jess, the designer, of course. All of these amazing photos were taken by Jon Hamblin, videography (video to come!) by Erica Griffiths and the wardrobe styling was done by Megan Ksionda. It was so lovely wearing Modcloth clothes as well - I felt right at home! We had such a fun time styling the jewelry with such fun colors and spring elements!

IFB's Blogger Spotlight!

Thank you so much to Annie and Shauna who nominated me for IFB's Blogger Spotlight! I'm sure most of you already heard, but since the interview just went up, I thought I'd blog about it now. IFB is such a great resource for you newbie bloggers out there (myself included since I am still so new and have so much to learn!)
