I'm a day late and a buck short on creating this post, but happy 25th birthday to my amazing husband, Brett! We celebrated by eating at his favorite restaurant, Clover Bar, and eating confetti cake afterwards. We got to spend it with his parents and grandma. Lovely birthday. Lovely boy. We're married. I'm required by law to fight this thing out. ;)
I married into the most perfect family on the planet. I'm so in love with his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, niece Ava, and baby nephew, Kyle. (although we have yet to meet him!) I couldn't have been more blessed with a wonderful family.
Because I'm obsessed with him. Literally. When Brett used to play in a band, playing drums, called The Potentials, I used to lurk him at basement shows and find ways of meeting him. Then I used to lurk photos of him, save them on my computer and drool over them all the while. Seriously. Obsessed! This is the oldest photo I have saved on my computer. I saved it off his old xanga.
I'm only putting this picture up as punishment. Why am I punishing him on his birthday?
He always does it to me - well usually. And makes the waiters sing at my birthday dinner. So there; take this. (even though I love this photo, haha!)
I love him because he is seriously stylin' and profilin'.
We have the most fun together I've ever had with anybody before in my entire life. It's like living and having a sleepover every day with your best friend of all time, and telling stories, and giggling, and taking adventures together. We'll never stop being children together.
Look at that smile. Seriously! He is so cuuuuuuute. His smile is my favorite, along with his gorgeous blue eyes, of course. I am seriously so jealous of Brett because he can smile with both sets of his teeth. ADORABLE!
I love that he'll take amazing, corny photographs with me, lay in the grass and pose for a self-timed camera, play on playgrounds with me, play catch with me, watch all my chick-flicks, eat my popcorn even when I put way too much butter on it, and deal with my complaints and rants and baby voices constantly. He's seriously the best husband ever.
We were talking last night about 25 years, and to just think, about reliving your entire life over again and you'll only be 50. And we were talking about how we'll have graduated kids, own a house (hopefully), have a huge dog and Sarge and Meg will be just memories, but we'll still and always have each other. Isn't that insanely amazing? Well not that Sarge and Meg will be just memories.. we'll miss them too much, but it is amazing we'll always have each other no matter what. Forever & ever!
