GOODBYE SKELLETONES.
We were here.
This was the place where kids who didn't belong belonged.
This was the place that no matter what,
as soon as you walked through those doors,
the outside world didn't exist.
It changed our lives for eight years
and that change will live with us forever.
I stood there in the basement of the place
we called our "home away from home"
with nostalgic eyes like I was
seeing it all for the first time again.
This whole weekend was so bittersweet. I had such a wonderful time and so many kids came out to support. We spent all of our Friday and Saturday nights there, and pretty much all day Sunday there. So many amazing bands played [the tide, joust, clearly blind, green means go, tall ships, brothers, kaline + so many more] The last day was especially sad. Lots of hugs, tears, laughter and sing-a-longs. I was spoiled for eight years. (I was fourteen when I started going to shows) so Skelletones was always around for me. Now I'm twenty-two, eights years later, and it's closed. There is a new venue going up in the same spot, but it will never be Skelletones. Nothing will ever be like Skelletones.
